How might music touch, influence or mold your life?

I tell you that music has always been there for me. It has been that one thing in my life that gives me strength, touches my heart, soul and emotions. How does it do that? How do I listen to a song that reminds me of something or a specific situation within my life? Do I make the association within my mind or does it actually invoke the memory that then brings it into my mind? I know, this may not even be making sense, however, I am just putting my thoughts about it out here. I am facinated with how certain songs can motivate me, for example - when I go down to run the stairs a Dr. Dre song or Limp Bizkit song can really get the blood flowing. And there is the emotional side to songs for me - like Don’t Say by Jon B or Magic by Robin Thicke. The list of songs and emotions can go on for ever and ever…… Music, oh how I love u!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried spiritual energy healing?

I have an eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. I went yesterday to check out a Spiritual Healing class, seemed pretty cool. Has anyone ever heard of this Energy / Spiritual Healing? Let me know!
Absolutely — I am a Level II Reiki Practitioner. I love it, and you can definetly feel the effects. I have made headaches and stomaches go away easily in the middle of the day at work when I can’t get to any medicine. In fact, its healthier in that respect because I’m not putting anything unnatural into my body. Reiki is a great system, to learn more about it visit http://www.reiki.org!

Should religion and spirituality be 2 different categories?

Religion for people who have the answer, and Spirituality for those who enjoy the search?
You should have an asterisk by your word ‘answer’. * implying that one that is best for them that is not founded upon any evidence, but instead upon oral story-telling that was eventually written down. And this answer statistically is the same as that person’s parents.

Direct Personal Experience w/Sex and Spirituality pt 1

Part one of three parts: Older, experienced women (especially Paula) look back over their life and loves with men and spirituality. From Cognizing the Vedas (sacred literature), the Alexander Technique, to comments from Youtube viewers who leave messages on vids like the Blacksburg Massacre according to Webster Tarpley about Paula Gloria being not so nice now that she is “over the hill” and her looks have gone south…Molly at her eloquent best.

Spiritual healing and addiction

Addiction, hmmmmm, what can help? Well, there are many programs, books, lectures and seminars out there they may help in the process and the journey. However, there is one thing that appears throughout the country and the world for that matter, that brings more peace and serenity to ones life. Many call this one thing — Spiritual Healing. You know, that thing we do from the inside out. The uncovering of all those shadows that we hide so deep within ourselves. Many times hidden to ourselves for years and years.

It is that deep introspection, the place and time when we are honest with ourselves and others. It is challenging and painful to uncover some of these things about ourselves that we hide. However, by doing this inner work we release and relieve ourselves of the inner bondage we place on ourselves. So, when are you going to get started? What might you have to face in there? Who might you become? Where might this uncovering process take you?

These are just a few questions I pose to you to ponder. Never give up, keep asking yourself the questions. You will get the answers, just be vigilant and listen. For these answers will come when you least expect it and from places you never imagined.

Dig deep, long and shine like you are suppose to!

Would Spiritual Healing help a suicidal devastation?

I’ve gone to counselling before, it wasn’t that much help but better than nothing. I don’t know exactly what spiritual healing would be, i’m not religious but spiritual but i’ve never been spiritually healed. Maybe that’s what i need as my spirit feels like it’s been gang-raped by ruthless men who never cared for me. I feel absolutely devastated rite now over just how unfortunate i have been in my love life, been giving and giving and giving all my love and cared for them sooo much that I lost myself in the maze and almost went crazy with love for them. Now I have nothing, they’ve all used and abused me. Would spiritual healing help me get over all this pain? I honestly feel suicidal and don’t know where to turn. I need some serious healing coz inside it feels like there’s a huge wound bleeding and not stopping. I don’t know why i keep choosing such men. There’s something wrong with me. I feel like i never even healed from my relationships as long as 3 yrs ago. All the wounds are open.
You need to get over all the bad shit and people that you have had to deal with in the past. Lie down outside on the next warm day and close your eyes and picture the asshole boyfriends that have upset or hurt you one by one. Then in your mind picture your self thanking them for any thing good that they did for you and tell them that you forgive them for any thing bad or negative that they did. Then in your mind picture them starting to float away from you and pull out your big knife and cut the silvery cords that connect him to you and say bye bye. Pretty simple, There is no problem that cant be solved darling.Alawys remember that Life is like a car, you can drive it or you can ride around in it.

How do you practice your spirituality? What is necessary everyday? ?

For me, as a Christian, I try to read my bible, but usually I pray everyday. I often wonder if it is enough. I have sometimes felt that maybe I should be a nun, or a missionary, like I have to dedicate my whole life to it to be good enough. I know that sort of contradicts the whole idea of God having grace on me through Jesus dying though. I don’t know. I’m not looking for advice, I just want to know, how do other people feel about their own spirituality. What is required of us?
Every day, I try to make sure I “walk my talk” and act in accordance with the things I believe. The most important spiritual thing for me is to put my beliefs into action. I pray whenever I feel moved to and I pray for all sorts of reasons, even just a quick “thanks for the great sunset.” I don’t force it, I do what I feel, and there are times when I go without praying. I see many people refreshed and renewed by some sort of daily observance or meditation and I sort of envy that, but it just doesn’t fit who I am. I don’t know how to answer your last question, it’s a very profound one. Edited to add: I observe the solstices and equinoxes too in my own way, and while I believe in God I don’t feel that He minds my acknowleging the changing seasons in ways that make me happy. Edited again to add that yes, I can thank God for a nice sunset without believing that He did it magically — I’m expressing my enjoyment of the beauty in that way.

What do you see as the relationship between spirituality and religion in your life?

I have to write a paper for a class on spirituality in the medical profession and have to interview people of different spiritual beliefs…so if someone who is not a Christian could answer this, that'd be great. (I've already interviewed one) These are the other questions:

Is your spirituality expressed through your religious practices? If so, how?

How do your spirituality and/or religious beliefs impact your day-to-day choices about how you live your life?

If you were in the hospital receiving nursing care, how might a nurse help you spiritually?

I was baptized Lutheran, but consider myself agnostic/atheist … I don't know if this will help, but I'll answer your questions:

Is your spirituality expressed through your religious practices? If so, how?
-Yes, I do not go to church or pray, but I am patient with others and make it a point not mock them for their beliefs or be overtly offensive to their beliefs

How do your spirituality and/or religious beliefs impact your day-to-day choices about how you live your life?
- I try to uphold a high moral standard and be a happy, healthy person for people to be around … I hope to make a difference & show others that believing in a supernatural being or higher power is not required for someone to be a good person

If you were in the hospital receiving nursing care, how might a nurse help you spiritually?
- He/She could help by not assuming I am religious, particularly by assuming I am Christian … this puts a pressure on me to accept someone else's beliefs at a time when I need peace, when i need to steady my mind - surgery and illness are difficult times - a lot of energy goes into trying to not break-down in front of those I care about … to add trying not to offend someone else's beliefs just requires more energy … and what if I were Jewish or Buddhist and the nurse starts talking about Jesus? The best they can do is find out my beliefs and the beliefs of those close to me … then they can pray with them or find the appropriate clergy for them … and please, with everything already on plate if I am hospitalized, I am under enough stress, don't try to convert me … :)

Does solitude play a part in your spirituality?

If so, how?

Obviously, this question is for those–atheist or theist–who consider themselves to have some form of spirituality, but all are welcome to answer.

A VERY big part. I refer to myself as a Pagan-Influenced Christian. I worship only the Holy Trinity but use Pagan rites and spells as a means of connecting with my Creator. (as well as prayer and other “traditional” forms of Christian worship. I view God as the Author of all magick and magick as simply natural laws of the Universe He created. I consider myself a Christian though my personal beliefs are not welcome in the Christian church. I practice in solitude in order not to offend anyone or be asked to engage in any religious debate.
